September 2015 Welcome Back from Our Summer Break!

Melanie V welcomed our members, new members and guests back from a busy summer. Leesa introduced the tentative programs and we jumped right in creating new Sunflower pin cushions and getting reacquainted. We tried to mix up our seating arrangement to get to know new people a little more.

After our business meeting we enjoyed our Show and Tell

Kathy H displayed an extra large tote bag for carrying quilts - this may be
offered as a workshop after Christmas.

Kathy H's completed Mystery Quilt, quilted by Nancy at Lansdown Studio

Susan A made  bag and quilt which she machine quilted herself

Christa Gunn made placements from 5" squares she was given by her Secret Pal. The simple change in border color  completely changed the look of placemats made from the same fabric using Disappearing Nine Patch design

Sandra C made her grandson a quilt from a panel and the wall hanging below for a friends new home.

Just two of Darcy A's recent projects, a landscape wall hanging from a previous workshop and quilted project called Birds in Flight. She also completed the Necessary Clutch and table runners from the workshop last year.  Darcy has just purchased a mid arm machine and completed he first project.

Debbie C completed the quilt from fabric purchased at last years retreat

Debbie H made more rug mugs (they are addictive!) and a baby quilt for a friend's little girl.

The animal theme baby quilt by Brenda L for her great nephew was from a panel.

Margie G has been making spiral table runners, so far 25 this summer that she sells at the Cubbyhole

Carolyn B made placements from fabric her sister sent to her.

Andrea may be new to our guild but has been very busy and productive over the summer! She made three quilts.  She likes working with solids and a modern style and quilted this on her Bernina.

Andrea worked on this over five years, a Disappearing Nine Patch and
then designed the lay out on graph paper.

This is for a friend who loves the Minions and is a combination of a panel and Yellow Brick Road.

She also made a bag and a necessary clutch.

Janet B completed a Necessary Clutch  at Gail Mitchells class

Diane S made a table topper (middle size option) and machine quilted it and the wall hanging below herself. She called the wall hanging  Dresden Flower.

Ethel sewed with Jessie and her nieces for a few days and made aprons, mittens, a "Bake Your Own" bag and pillow cases. They also had time to shop!

Ella's sister sent her this fabric to made a bag for each.

Ella also made a Necessary Clutch and a wallet with Velcro below.

Debbie Delong made Vy's Butterfly from a 1976 Quilt World. The original was done for her daughter in pastels. She has finished a pillow to go with her new bed quilt she is working on in the new colors.
