In October, we had decided to have our festive meal in January rather than December. Unfortunately it was forgotten that we had another program already booked for January so this is not possible. There will be an option of  tea or coffee and dessert provided by the hotel  for a small cost as well as a free will offering, the proceeds being donated to the school breakfast programs at Keswick Ridge School and Keswick Valley Memorial School.

At our November meeting, Jackie B  from NB College of Craft and Design did a presentation on wool, fiber and fleece. She explained about different kinds of wool, and we learned tidbits about spinning, felting, dyeing, and weaving.

The Keswick Ridge Quilters met on Thanksgiving Monday at the Riverside Resort. The main event of the evening was a program of sharing of first and latest quilts made by an individual. Many members shared.   The evening wound up with our Show & Tell.  Next month we will have pictures of all our works available again!

Welcome back after a nice summer break. We hope everyone enjoyed their time and are now looking forward to a productive fall!

Everyone was pleased to meet,  see quilting friends, welcome new members, and find out what is coming up in the next year.  Some exciting programs and workshop days are being scheduled and we are looking forward to seeing all the new ideas and completed projects.  We will post these and try to update the blog as changes are made.

Some people have been busy over the summer.  Since we had forgotten the camera for the meeting we only have a few snaps of some of the projects that have occupied your time since June.  These are just a few projects from "Show and Tell".

Miniature Quilts

 

At our January meeting of the Keswick Ridge Quilters we welcomed Joyce Newman.  She shared her miniatures with us and informed us about what a true miniature quilt is.  Joyce began making miniatures so she could test out new techniques.  Joyce designs her own patterns and she will be sharing her expertise at our February Super Saturday on the 23rd.
