December 2022 Show and Tell

Our December meeting was a dinner at the Kingsley Road Church - it was delicious!

Elaine showed us two wall hangings she had made, one with a white background and the other with a dark background - this was from a workshop she had delivered to us in the fall.

Sweet aprons made by Linda - I believe for her grandchildren.  So sweet!

A cow pillow made by Susan A for her daughter from a Lori Holt pattern!

Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

January 2023 Guild meeting

 Good afternoon everyone!

I was not able to make the meeting last night (January 9) however Carlinda Daigle graciously agreed to take the photos and she sent me all this wonderful commentary!   She has a talent for words!!!

Heather recently tried her hand at felting and created this lovely winter collection. Her sister was impressed with how the tree was so accurate… her secret was a cookie cutter.

At Gisele’s first retreat one of the participants did a demo of a rope bowl. She watched a couple YouTube videos and made this beautiful bowl. The flower was from a textile class that she took at the NB College of Craft and Design. Nice job!

Kathy finished her Christmas Tree Wall Hanging and did a wonderful job of using the directional fabric. This was the 18 x 21 size of the wall hanging.

Kathy came across these lace hankies while going through her mothers belongings and thought “What can I make with these hankies?” Angels of course.

This quilt was simply a purchase from Giant Tiger that Elizabeth took up a notch by quilting it just a little bit more. She used a nice blue blanket as the backing. So cozy!

This quilt was already quilted when Debbi received it. The owner wanted just a little bit more added to it so Debbi stepped in and added the finishing touches. Lovely blue Dresden blocks.

This quilt was made for one of Betty’s neighbors who is adopting a little girl and a little boy. This one is for the little girl and helped Betty decrease the amount of this fabric in her stash.

This quilt was short arm quilted by Betty. She used fireside fabric on the back and the pattern in the quilting stands out on the cream fabric.

This was a class offered by Buttermilk Creek Quilts from Bristol NB. The colors are lovely and the table runner long.

Melanie V - This quilt has four generations of quilting through out it. As you can see the quilt is a good size.

Jodi M - First picture is Christmas napkins whose pattern is on our blog from November.

Jodi wasn’t able to finish these items for Christmas as she got sick and put her health before quilting.

This was from our Christmas Tree Wall Hanging workshop and she’s going to use gold thread on the hearts in the center.

Jodi started this quilt top 10 years ago and when she found the pile of fabric pieces the only thing she was missing was the pattern and low and behold she found it.

Doreen made this catheter cover for her mother who lives in a nursing home and is a tad embarrassed when she goes to the dining room for meals. Doreen is also making covers for an oxygen tank and a colonoscopy bag.

The stocking was a quilt as you go and the apron was a gift from Joyce’s sister and the ties all have sports motif to them.

This quilt by Natalie Duncan.
The pattern is Opposites Attract. The fabric is from the Downtown Abby collection and it was machine quilted by Nancy Colpitts.

So thankful for a wonderful guild who shares freely their projects!

Once again thanks to Carlinda!
