2016 January

Our program people had us all up and moving with Back To Basics, four stations set up to demonstrate preparing projects and quilts for quilting (sandwiching and pinning), cutting with a rotary tool, tips and tricks for making pillows, and binding your quilt, including corners and bias binding.

Challenge for January is "Snow" and for July it will be "I Am Canadian"

After our business portion we got down to Show & Tell

Above is a comfort quilt that Susan A quilted and bound for us!

Melanie's remembering challenge for November was not quilted but a shadowbox
with memories of female family members and their service.

Her December Challenge was two mug rugs.

Kathy H decided to do pillows for her challenges. She made two pillows and then is making pillow sleeves! what  a great idea. These are Septembers "Sunflowers" and Octobers "Black & Orange" .

Ruth is doing pillows and this is her December Christmas Challenge

Linda received this nifty watch as a gift with a strap that is a measuring tape.

Debby made an apron for a child and a small purse that uses free motion quilting and squares.

Toni's husband wanted a quilt with Toronto Maple leafs. The centre was cut from a banner and she found a Maple Leaf's remnant at Fabricville for backing.

Mary Jo showed us her crazy quilt with minky backing, quilted by Nancy at Lansdowne Studio

Darcy made this from fabric scraps: wool, burlap, suede for the trees and a dollar store frame.
